Well I have been using Firefox for about 7 years, but I came to the realization that it has become bloated, SUPER slow, and a resource hog (even after a clean install). Not to mention its frequent crashes--dare I say it is no longer the browser it used to be.

So I downloaded Chrome a few days ago. I used Chrome briefly when it first came out but I stopped using it because it did not have the extensions like Firefox. However, after messing with Chrome a bit I see that it now supports a shit load of extensions and it is SUPER fast, sleek, and an all around worthy replacement for Firefox. Which brings me to my question.

Does anyone know if Chrome has a .flv download extension similar to Download Helper? I looked but I did not see any extensions for this specific purpose.

I have found a counterpart for every extension I had for Firefox except this one. I want to make the transformation complete so I can bury Firefox's bloated slow ass. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. Did I mention Firefox kept me from replying/editing my posts in this forum...I used to visit with IE but now I can with Chrome.

I don't use Chrome, so I don't know of any extensions. Firefox user here. =P You can try a web based solution. There are plenty of site that can download video by just plugging in the url.

I haven't used the extension, but give flv_download a try. It sounds like it will do what you want.

I'd say this is a topic for the internet truckstop, and so am transferring...

Personally, I don't think firefox is slow at all, and while Chrome offers some improvements over firefox, it still seems to fall down in other categories compared to ff, so I tend to go back to ff.

Overall in my experience, having given chrome a good go, I seem to still go back to ff, while still running chrome a few times a week. I find ff's ad blocking and general user experience/customizability better, but your mileage may vary, as I find I don't have as much time as I used to to screw with things as I have in the past. This may be the result of the availability and effectiveness of third party products, and that may change over time.

It may very well be that I am missing something important, so please educate me/us if that is the case.

Thanks for the extension. That is exactly what I needed. Now if I could only find a good download manager like the Download Statusbar my transformation would be complete.

P.S. I am only on day 2 of my Chrome experience. I am going to use it for a straight week and then report back.
