Maximum PC

First off, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum.

At work we have a stack of about fifteen or so old laptops, Dell Latitude D510, D610 and D800s, that all have different ailments and are unusable. I thought it would be a neat idea if I could somehow pull the LCD off of one and attach it to my desktop, a Dell Precision 380 with an NVidia Quadro FX 1400 video card and maybe use it with something like LCD Studio to view system info or something cool.

I'm not a super-duper geek but I can usually fumble my way through things enough to figure it out and since we have a few of these things there wouldn't be much risk. Is this even do-able?

I appreciate any info you all can lend.

laptop lcds have completely different and often times proprietary connectors than your desktop graphics card would be difficult to say the least.

Yeah, after posting my question I decided to do some Googling to find out more and pretty much arrived at the same conclusion.

If you could figure out the pins on the laptop panel's connector, I don't see why you couldn't.

Probably more effort than it is worth though.
