I was sitting here thinking about how so many people on these forums have helped me with my problems. and most of the software related issues i have had you guys fixed with some sort of open source free thing.

I began thinking and i figured this would make a good thread. To list all the free to use stuff that you have found online. or free stuff online that you think people will find usefull. so far here is what i have found. and what others on these forums have recommended to me.

Cd burner xp (really awsome burning software)
dvd flick (really awsome dvd burning software)
open office (great document for opening word files)
League of legends (free strategy game. VERY FUN)
Gom Player (free video player)
VLC media player (free awsome video player)
google chrome (free web browser)
Daemon Tools (Virtual drive device thingy)
Spybot S@D (spyware detection)

thats about the only stuff i have found that is free and REALLY good. I still to this day have not found a free antivirus program that will not crap all over my pc

List all the free and cool stuff you know about and think others might find useful.

There's a sticky on free games in the games section. I also use CDBurnerXP, and I think its excellent. imgburn seems to be more popular but I liked CDBurnerXP better. I also use Openoffice.

Some of the programs I use:

AVG, Avira, Avast

Ccleaner, great app!

Atom Time...Set computer time to US Cesium clock right to the second.

Thunderbird...E-Mail Client

Recuva ... recovery program

When installing any freeware apps just uncheck the crap you don't want...this means you actually have to read before clicking!
