In my old computer I have a cribbage game called Ultimate Cribbage. I can no longer download it and want it in my new computer. I made a copy from the old PC on a CD-R. I am at a loss as to how I can transfer the files on this disk to my new computer so I can play this card game. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Open up the CD and drag and drop to your desktop?

If it was a game that you had to run an installer for, then simply copying files won't allow you to tranfer the game to another computer, as there are probably registry entries, start menu shortcuts, etc., involved.

You would need to run the installer, or manually replace any registry entries in addition to copying the game folder in order to get it work...

If you need the installer, see if this is the same app that you're talking about. If it is, simply download and install:

Ultimate Cribbage V5.52

Tartar sauce. That cribbage game is unbelievably hard to find on a working link. I finally snagged it on Fileplanet, there was a 58 minute wait in line. Kinda funny to go through all that for Cribbage!

Anyway, I'll host the file on my site so you can download it. Let me know when you've snagged it so I can take it off there. It'll be up at least through this weekend, as I'm leaving to go camping in about an hour and won't be back until Sunday night.

Enjoy!

To One4yu2c...Thanks, just went online and got your message. Have downloaded and already played one game to check it out. It works just fine and my wife will be very happy. There was a msg that came up after downloading "CRIB Windows Application- An error has occured which may or may not be fatal. I will save debug information to a log file named ASSERT.LOG which you should send to keithsw@geocities.com so it can be investigated and fixed." I just clicked OK and game came up.
I did try to drag and drop the other day but was not successful.

Many thanks again.
