Gotta love it when you pretty much max out your Internet connection speeds over your wireless router. Through two walls and 45 feet.

Check this out, pretty sweet!!

Image

I thought it would be fun to see if anyone can beat my dl speeds, if you can post your speedtest (and hardware setup/service) results I am very curious.

FYI This is a home connection NOT a workplace:

My setup - Cable Modem - Motorola SB6120 / Router - D-Link DIR-655 / Network Card - Intel 1000 GT.

They just upgraded my cable service to DOCSIS 3.0 two weeks ago, so I bought the new motorola modem, the only one you can buy right now, and to my surprise my dl's went from 30-35 mbps to 85-89 mbps!! Also my uploads went from 2-3 mbps to 5-7 mbps.

Any feedback on the below would be appreciated as well -

Question:

1. I am looking for a good review site for network cards, anyone know of one (From what I have read Intel has the fastest, anyone have the 1000 MT or ma dual port?)

2. I have been trying to find sites to test my speed out on, I was able to hit 5.7 Megs a second from Nvidia, anyone know of faster sites I may be able to get closer to 8-9 megs a sec on?

Phelan, CA Dial-up NetZero "No Broadband available"

-Connection at time
Speed 46.6
-connected for: 8:17:00
-Compression
Down: 2%
Up: 23%
-Errors
Down: 1,482
Up: 0

NetWork setup:
Sony VIAO /w DELL 56K v.92 modem
Ethernet: connects to a WiFi router some of my PC's has no Dial-up modem but have a WiFi card
ISP: Netzero sharded
Speed range 28.8 Kbps to 48.0 Kbps "Mainly 46.6Kbps

Since there is no Broadband available as a main internet connection this is all I can get without a bandwidith usage limit like 3G

--Some time this year 4G will be coming to my area so Dial-up I hope is a temp connection since I moved in oct 2009, When I get 4G I will update post--

dtischerd I wish I had atleast 1.5Mbps DSL. When 4G comes to my area and I can get off of dial-up I will post my speedtest when I get back onto High-Speed Internet. Dang Verizon does not see my area as profitable to upgrade even for DSL and no Cable companies in the rural area were I am. So rural internet is Dial-up or Satellite Internet.

I am pretty happy with this but I only get 65GB Bandwidth usage so I might see if I can go with the 12Mb/s which has 90GB

Nah, I don't really go over my limit, just near it.
Plus why would I want to lose speed for bandwidth? :?
But thanks for the suggestion :)

P.S. its nice to meet another canadian here on these forums :D
