Hrm.

Can I throw a GPU into my system JUST to fold? And keep using my 5770 for multi-monitor work?

First thing .. I need to win that contest. ;)

you probably could. You would just need to set a second client to run on the other one.

As long as the two cards can coexist in the system I would say that it would work.

solution: Just use the MSI big bang p55 with the lucid hydra whatchajigger.

Then you could even run ATI and Nvidia cards from different generations together if you wanted lol.

I can't use nvidia because I use 3 monitors for work and ATI's solution is much better for multimonitors.

I will use the GPU client on my 5770 when I've got a waterblock for it .. but until then, I can't stand the sound of the GPU fan whirring at full speed.

So .. in time, I will.

well. If I keep up the 18k+ you probably won't overtake me for a while lol

See .. this is why I need to build a farm. :P

dude. It gpus. I only have a 5970 running 2x virtual 4870s. a gtx285, 8600gts and an 8800gts (G80) on now. Those and a few dual cores running A3 SMP.

believe it or not, about half of that 18k+ is from the 285

Ah, hate to bust up a good bubble, but I moved about 21-23k ppd to you for 4 days. 2x GTX260 216s, 9600GSO and a 9600GT.

man... my A3's and bonuses are coming through, and you're still gaining! I can't afford more hardware. I'm going to end up having to talk my parents into letting me fold on their laptop, and getting a PSU for the 3Ghz Pentium 4 machine... that might add 1000PPD...
You and your darned i5's. :P

Yeah ... I just dropped a 10,000 point day with 6700 of those points coming at midnight ... go figure. ;)

I'm aiming to pass you before the end of the month.

jip... I officially concede that there's no way you're not going to pass me soon. I've done everything... SMP2 is pumping full-bore on every core I can get my hands on (most are just stuck with A1's though), and I overclocked both of the video cards I had running stock... and then you go and drop a 22K point day!
It's only a matter of time now... at least I beat you to top 1000. :P

Yeah .. I think I have a mysterious benefactor. Either someone is pumping some wind in my sails or adding my 5770 to the mix has helped A LOT.

Oh .. and that was a 24.5k day. ;) More than all of last week, actually.

cheater! :P
No way an i5, E8400, and 5770 puts out 24K PPD. :(
whatever, congrats on the gauntlet. You'll probably be in the top 500 well before I get in... unless whoever's helping you stops.

Never get into a contest with a man backed by a barrel full of monkeys.

By definition, he WILL have all the fun.
