Maximum PC

I'm looking for a good dual-band wireless router for my network. The network is used for streaming video, sometimes music, and a lot of online gaming(PC,PS3,XBOX360). I do live in a two story house and the devices range from being right next to the router to upstairs in the farthest corner from the router. I also would like to have a Gb switch built in the router. Any suggestions would be great even if you think I shouldn't get a dual-band router and get a get a single-band. I do have dual-band adapters for the PS3 and XBOX360 because I use WPA2 encryption for the network. I do have a lot of G networks around my house so thats why I wanted to go in the 5Ghz range for my network. Any help would be great. Thanks

Currently I have a Linksys wrt54g (running tomato) as the main router in an upstairs bedroom. I have 2 additional Linksys wrt54g routers running dd-wrt in client-bridge mode, one in an upstairs bedroom for the tivo, and the second downstairs that is hooked up to a second tivo.

This current setup is ok for normal operation (tivo updates etc), but I'd like to have a better connection from the down stairs to the router for netflix and other media streaming. The main problem with the current connection is that it tends to be unreliable, periodically dropping the connection.

I also have 3 laptops (g only) and one mac (a,b,g,n) that need use the wireless as well.

Any suggestions?

I've seen MUCH better powerline deals lately from ZyXEL. The most recent (2/4/2010, but now dead) was the ZyXEL NBG318SKIT-400-SP, $40 shipped @ Newegg! That's an amazing deal considering one of the powerline adapters is also a wireless G router. Wouldn’t be surprised to see this one come back soon.

What’s important is that ALL of these are 200mbps HomePlug AV, interoperable w/ any other HomePlug AV device (including across brands), and any other features they may possess (routing, switching, wireless, media server, etc.) are just ADD-ONs, they all functional minimally as a powerline adapter. So you can mix and match at will. It just makes sense to get as much functionality as you can, esp. if it costs less, often FAR less, than a plain ol' powerline adapter. I just can’t see spending $100 or more for a pair of powerline adapters at this time. Just too many deals (mostly ZyXEL) that keep coming up again and again.
