What phone company actually has the largest 3g network? Both AT&T and Verizon claim to have the largest 3g network, on there commercials. Whats the truth?

From what I have seen, which isn't much, is that Sprint and Verizon go back and forth claiming they have the largest (and at any given time, either might be correct as they are both expanding all the time and competing with each other). AT&T isn't in the running for the largest... but it might be the most robust / fastest? Although I have seen the Droid kicking the snot out of an iPhone on 3G so that might not be as true anymore.

Btw, if you are in the US it doesn't really matter if the phone you want is the iPhone, you are stuck with AT&T.

Verizon took over the top seed when they acquired Altell. AT&T has the fastest, not largest.

That's not true. I have friends that use them on a number of different networks.

Who all is carrying it? Not knowing where this guy is chances are he is stuck with AT&T based on availability.

I think he's talking about Jailbreaking it. It would be a breach of contract for anyone but AT&T to officially carry it in the US.

No one else is carrying them. Once jailbroken, iPhones just like any other phone are no longer restricted by the bounds of their parent network.
