Getting ready to install a new HDD, since partition copy via gparted is going nowhere i'm just going to get a oem/upgrade/or retail Win 7 and do a fresh install on the new drive but i have a few concerns.

I have a Dell XPS M1330 with OEM Vista x64 on my original 250 HDD, it comes with mbr, recovery, os, and "media direct" partions from Dell

i never used the "media direct" program, like ever so i'm not concerned with turning that partition into a umbutu 9.10 on the new drive but i'm not sure about drivers, battery meter, or install order.

Should i go win 7 first
then umbutu live cd
repartation free space
then umbutu

or Unbutu first and then something else?
