Hey people, this is my first foray into the computer building world. I've been doing a shitload of research over the past few weeks and have come up with this build. Now I just want to know what the more knowledgeable folk think about it.

CoolerMaster Silent Pro 700 watt PSU

Thermaltake Element S Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133077

Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB HDD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136319

Intel Core i5-750
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215

CoolerMaster Hyper 212 CPU cooler
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065

GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD4P LGA 1156 Mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128400

Corsair Dominator 4GB DDR3 1600
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145265
(I would have gone with cheaper ram, but the Dominator and motherboard together was a combo deal that saved $30, bringing it to about the same price as the cheaper stuff)

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit for System Builders
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116754

Add to that a Sony CD/DVD drive and some extra fans and were at $953

Finally, an ATI 5850 graphics card. I didn't add it earlier because everyone is sold out, but I'll Pick one up when they're back in stock.
Including the graphics card, the total should be just under $1250.

Any suggestions on getting better performance without a whole lot of extra money, or saving money without skimping where it's important?

Will all these pieces function together properly? Will a 5850 fit in that case? This is my first computer build, so any tips are welcome.

I plan on Overclocking in the near future, and I might go Crossfire when the card prices drop, so that motherboard won't work (right? They say 1x PCI-E 2.0)
