you better pick it up, tbrownell is stalking your ass down... He's like a Zombie, thought he was dead then once he's behind you he pops up from the dead with a vengeance. With the update just now he is on my threats list and I had a decent day yesterday

I'm still waiting on almost 2k points, and its been over 12 hours...

Also, new was down, so I lost 3 hours of GPU folding cuz I couldn't get a new WU.

AND I have a client that has been trying to send its results back for like 2 days. Another 600 points...

I'll prolly end up winning, but EOC and Stanford won't say so...

I'm so mad right now, cuz I'm 1800 behind you on F@H, but I am still missing 2500points. They have all sent in now, Stanford just has to give me credit.

looks like we are getting our first pass, tbrownell just crept by you now he's about to blow by me. I guess I knew it was going to happen sooner or later, one cannot be the only one passing peeps by.

Looks like Friday evening is when this will come to a close. None to soon for my laptop, it started out at 350 ppd but has gradually slowed to 150, I fear this was the coup de grâce for it in its slow death.

The points posting/reporting issue is frustrating, hopefully those new serves they have been talking about will change that. You want to go off EOC posts for the ending but call it a tie is the other person passes the mark within 2 updates since there is such a lag in posting?

2 updates SHOULD be ok. 3 if one of them is the noon one though.

That isnt the first pass, its the 2nd. MaxFan11 passed us a while back, but he did it when we were so new, and he went so fast, we didnt see him.

Glad to see you're making a come back on EOC, I was getting a little worried there when I saw a 5k point difference earlier today. And you passed tbrownell back, although, I think that pass is inevitable for us both

Check out this post by alan2308 he talks about reducing CPU usage with ATI GPUs, might get you a few more PPD.

Only 133 more people to pass!

Can't, it needs vista, I've got XP. Been holding out for 7.

It's strange cuz it uses 25% (100% of one core) no matter how fast the CPU it seems. If I'm running at 2.4ghz, its at 100, but if I'm at 2.9ghz, its still 100, and with no PPD increase.

If it didn't use so much like NVidia, I would get a nice boost, but I'm kinda screwed now.

I still think I'm missing about 2k points from a few days ago, I got rid of that client, so I cant look, but I am afraid that I didnt change my name, thus, 2k points made that I dont get credit for...

when I was using the 2600xt it used a lot more CPU then the nvidia, my 9600 hardly uses any.

I'm missing some points on EOC, not all the points on standfords website showed up even after it updated, it must draw from a different database then the one they display. Only 1k but still, it would have kept me from getting passed by tbrownell a little longer

looks like that 2k you were missing showed up, you had one hell of a day yesterday, a new record for you. A few more like that and I'll be changing my user name to yours for a few days. My CPU just dropped 500PPD to 1180, hopefully it is just a WU and not permanent change.

I'm hoping to keep my laptop going another day or two so it can finish its WU, after that I think it will be retired from folding, it is struggling. It's the little laptop that could but didn't

I've OCd my 2.2ghz celeron(P4 era) to 2.42ghz now. Prolly wont help any, cuz it gets 80-250ppd, so even a 10% boost is 8-25ppd.

I would oc my main rig, since it pulls in 2.5k, but I've had bad luck with that... If i didnt push it before, I would be ahead of you now, thats when you gained over 4k on me.

You gotta have done something diferent, last you said, you usually got 4800ppd on fah mon, but your averaging 5400 on EOC. My fahmon NEVER goes below 5400 with bad WUs, but it goes up much higher, and yet, my average isn't anywhere near that yet...

Well all my folding was down for about 2 hours today, that should give you a little time to catch up. I finally figured out how to get VM to work, had to do this crazy turn on, turn off cycle thing. After that I set up Ubuntu on VirtualBox now trying to figure out how to install FAH on that, heard you get a pretty sizable increase in PPD running it under a Linux OS.

Also played with my GPU clocks some, still cannot get my shader clock above 1806 without it crashing but I got the core and memory clocks lower 338 and 932 starting from 550/1350/1400 (C/S/M), stressed tested it before I launched FAH-GUP so hopefully it won't crash and I lose the WU. Won't help my PPD but hopefully will lower the heat and electric use some.

My PPD on FAH is all over the place, right now it is at 4200, earlier today it was 5600, I have noticed some WU post as more points then what it says too. It also isn't using nearly as much RAM, usually it uses about 3GB, it is less then 1.5 right now. hummm I cannot stay at 4200 for very long before seeing your back side

Alright, as you can see by my last post, I'm desprate, so I tried to OC my main rig again :o :( :?

If it works, 3.02GHz may help, if not, you win. After my OC problems, i figured just stay running, maybe I'll pass you, but now, its all out, now or never. We will see.

Oh yea... and I OCd the AGP port on the 2600. Can't OC the card, but figured that card is pushing the AGP bottleneck, so I upped the port a few MHz, not much(I've heard that can cause problems) but a little. It only boosted me about 3ppd, lol.

It seems like your gonna win. Idk what you've done to speed up, because a while back you said you were at your limit, and i thought I would win then, but now not so sure.

shit... guess I'll be hitting up Tedster on how to get this VM working, there isn't much time left to be fiddling, or to make up ground if something crashes. Sigh.. Maybe my laptop can make it to Friday :?

I switched from VMware to SMP, it got me a lot more PPD, I don't think they were working correctly since they were running in 32bit. That large spike on EOC is when I switched over, seems like it is normalizing right about 5000-5500.

This OC bisness of yours has me a little worried, last time you did that you flew by me

Its worth a shot...

My PC crashed ALREADY. One more try, this time with ram at stock settings. I think my memory OC is whats killing the PC. Its corsair dominator I think (with the heatpipe heatsinks) and I OCd them as corsair says to (changed all the cas and whatnot, and upped the V to 1.9)

Normally I wouldn't mess with that stuff, but corsair said to... We will see if ignoring them works...

No, I started flying by you when I got my VMs going, my OCing is what let you catch up to me, since It caused me to be down so much. (when you gained 4k in like 2 days)
