Well it's not the world, it's your company/school.
Talk to them.
In a lot of cases it makes perfect sense. It's not your internet/network.

Eh, I right clicked and spell corrected the word but it was at the same time I submitted the topic - Im sure the same has happened to you in the past.

None the less, what I meant to note is - this topic is important and ridiculoud for the fact that it was blocked due to being "shareware/freeware".... maybe they are trying to make a statement against linux users. Wahahaha!

The sites that you are NOT going to list here are blocked by the network or ISP that you are using to access the internet.

If you are paying for the service, complain to the admin and if they don't change their policies, take your money elsewhere.

If you are not paying for the service, stop complaining. Free but censored is better than nothing at all.

Despite what you wrote in the now-locked thread in the Break Room, the Internet is NOT free. For instance, when I say that you are NOT going to list here the sites blocked by your network, I mean it. You aren't. If I have to come back here, delete posts and lock this thread, I'll be locking your account for 7 days as well. We have rules ... please read them ... this definitely qualifies as a 'post that sucks.'

Finally, when you told CrashTech that he doesn't have 'the right' to tell you what to post ... you're wrong. Crash is also a moderator and not only has 'the right' to lock threads that don't meet our rules .. he also has the responsibility to do so. Please don't sass the mods.

Oh .. and welcome to MPC. :) We'll school you up good!

Go figure. Your school or government job has limits based on filters they've put in place so you stay focused on school/work instead of visiting sites that are a distraction from said environments.

For the OP, anyone with a [PC] tag in their avatar's are not people you want to piss off or sass to any great degree around here. If they are [PC] AND a moderator, it's a very quick way to get yourself in trouble and/or removed from these forums. Just furthering what Jip was telling you since you obviously suck at reading forum rules and such.

Now if a site such as the local MTA bus service was blocked because of "travel", that would be something to rant about.

Gah, maybe I put this topic in the wrong location and perhaps detailed it wrong. It was meant to host reasons for which a site is blocked... ridiculous reasons... but then again this site is definitely not the most organized site I've seen... hard to decide which place to post it in. Either way, I find it weird that all the mods on this site seem to swarm a topic when something different happens :P

Anyways, move/enjoy the topic.

For what you were trying to accomplish it's the right section but for you to complain about it is wrong in our eyes.
If a site or group of sites is blocked it is usually for good reason.

You never answered if this is your school or work doing the blocking. You are 17 so I assume your complaining about your school.
I can't imagine it's you own ISP that is blocking it.

Regardless of whether you think it is ridiculous, it's not your call.
Some of us that run IT departments actually set up these blocks.
If it's not your computer but rather your employers/schools, then we have every right to block you from accessing site to download programs that can and will effect our machines. This includes IM programs such as Messenger and AIM.

First thing, we're not a list-hosting site. You can Twit, FB, MySpace and dozens of other places for this...

Second, since you haven't responded back about where this 'network' issue is, it is assumed that it is somewhere where you're trying to do thing that aren't allowed, such as work or school. We can't in any way shape or form help circumvent that. Talk to the SysAdmin.

Third, don't piss off the Moderators by sassing them. I have to deal with them when they are pissed. If you have a problem, please use the PM function.
