rgr, but you need steam to unlock it and they won't be unlocking it until tonight at 2am central time. I'm not sure if the game will always need to be unlocked. lik, say you get it next week after all the hype is cooled down a bit. will you still need an interenet connection to unlock it? if so thats pretty gay.

P.S.: If you pre-loaded it and have it bought on a credit card, and you trust your friends, you can just give them your steam account name and password and they can DL it and play it too. Steam forgot about this I believe. Unless they have some sort of countermeasure against this that we aren't aware of. o far, me and a friend can play CS on the same account, just not on the same server. So I assume that since we aren't even going to be on servers, we can both use the game at the same time.

P.P.S.: I may be able to make a cra..... nevermind, I won't post that here...

wrong, sorry, but if one person starts playing, and the other goes to play, all they have to do is re-enter their name and password into steam and they can also play. trust me, i've done it before, and it works. the only thing you cant do is play in the same server. Me and a friend tried this a month ago and we were both playing the same game (Counter Strike) on the same account in different servers.

besides all you would have to do for your friend to get HL2 is download HL2 on your account and get the computer into ofline mode and then use it from there. the computer with the extra copy of HL2 wouldnt even need an internet connection after it is downloaded. So I see no reason why the same copy of HL2 cant be put on multiple computer sysytems.
