I voted pre-order. I got the HL2 coupon when Best Buy was selling 9600 Pro's in regular 9600 boxes last year. Sold a few cards and kept one of the coupons for myself :D

I have not gotten the game yet. It being good or not isn't the issue: I have to buy the game eventually because I have been so addicted to the old version and half of its mods. As long as they don't get too carried away and completely screw up the old physics, the game will rock. Right now I'm just worried about cash and hardware. I still play CS and DOD and I am still stuck with low specs and a thin wallet. My last two video cards have been hand-me downs. As far as gamers go, I'm probably one of the worst-equipped.

Yeah, I'm not posting my specs: they are sad. Maybe after I upgrade so I can save face.

I will just go to a store to buy it. I got doom 3 at best buy then when circuit city had it on sale next week, i took it back to best buy and they gave me circuit city's price less 10%. do you get a hard copy when you pre-order online? obviously the gold version gives you a hard copy, but do they send you a hard copy for the others?
