... I was so addicted to Alpha Centauri/Alien Crossfire but my new PC uses and AMD 64 bit proc and the game won't play on it. (whish is really frustratind cause I LOVED that game...) So, I'm looking for suggestions on TBS games that others play and love. I know about Sid Meier's other TBS games like Civilization but I'm looking for others too. Anyone out there know of any good one???

The only recent one I know if was Masters of Orion 3 ... but that game was so shitty I only tried playing it for a week then tried community mods which made it suck much less. You can pick it up for $9.99 on Amazon.com today … or probably a lot less on the discount shelves or used shelves of EBGames

Obsidian, I agree with you 100%. And you're right, all the modders could do was take a shitty game, and make it less shitty.

Never in all my life have I felt ripped off buying a game. I have purchased a few titles that I didn't like, or could never get into, but Master of Orion 3 felt like financial sodemy.

I'm a huge Civilization fan, myself, but I would also like to know of any current, good TBS games out there.

I know the campaign mode world map is turn based, but the combat isn't.

I have Medival:Total War, didn't like it.
