Sup, fellow addicts,fraggers,champions,and geeks.
I was just wondering, when you are buying a game, how much attention do you pay to who developes a game? To who publishes it? how much,if at all, do these affect your buying decision? Do you pay more attention to aspects, music, genre or the title? How do you avoid buying crappy games?
How do you guys and gals make the Right DECISION?

Thank You,

I look forward to your thoughts

I usually wait until the games been out for awhile and see what everyone says about it. I still haven't bought Doom3 and won't until the price comes down to less than $30, just not good enough game play to spend any more than that. I also play the demo's to see if I like it.

You can often also put a lot of stock in a developers post-production track record... which is why game producers like Paradox, Bioware, and Auran are frequently refered to as good... and game producers like EA, NovaLogic, and Ubisoft are frequently refered to as bad.

But in the end it all comes down to an individual's taste... As Jokerswild said... Demos are the best way to not get burned, as is waiting to get the general public's opinion and for price cuts. I can't think of more than 3 games I couldn't wait for the price to drop sub-$30.

You just found another way to make a 'RIGHT' decision. Join a forum and ask around.

What sort of games do you like? RTS? FPS? RPG?
