FIBChess doesn't have an opening book. Spanked. I wonder if this was some kind of experiment in machine learning or something?! Why else would you not use an opening book?
Looks like four of them were running quad Opteron's (
http://www.cs.biu.ac.il/games/ then click participants). There's a lot of bang for the buck in those Opterons. I wonder if we'll ever see a dedicated chess Deep Blue type of machine again.
