Hey all!

Today is a great day, the countdown is over and Bethesda made it official. The next saga in the The Elder Scrolls series is called Oblivion.

For those that do not know what The Elder Scrolls are, they are a series of games that started in 1996, with number III being Morrowind, the game of the year in 2002.

Oblivion will be a next generation RPG, with awswome immersive graphics, and a whole lot of great stuff that we do not yet know about.

The basic plot is that the Emperor is dying (or dead) and you need to find the hier to his throne (or become it). Also, in Morrowind your character destroys the lifeblood to several gods, then kills the gods. Now, the problem is that these gods were keeping the banished Daedrea in Oblivion, and holding off the Blood Tide.

Now that the gods of the Tribunal are dead, there is nothing holding the gates of Oblivion shut, or the Daedrea behind them.

You can join in all the speculation, and also see a screenshot here.

Also, you can pick up a copy of GameInformer for a 12 page preview of Oblivion the week of Sept. 20th.

Awesome.

I was wondering when the follow up would be announced. Thanks for the info!

Morrowind is one of the few, out of many, RPG titles I actually finished.

Daggerfall was probably the best non-linear single player game ever ... I don't know why, but the Elder Scrolls III Morrowind just seemed so limited in comparison.

I beat Morrowind GOTY edition while I was in Iraq during my downtime. Can't wait to see Oblivion :)

Awsome, I can't wait! I loved Morrowind ((but I played the Xbox one, worse graphics, better controls)).

Hey, go check out the stores for the latest issue of Game Informer, the October issue.

There you will find a 12 page article on Oblivion, with some pretty nifty sceenies. ;)

:D :D :D

I am currently hopelessly addicted to Morrowind GOTY. Not sure why I didn't play it when it came out, as I love RPG's. Guess I didn't like FPS games at the time because my clumsy ass didn't have the patience to get used to the WASD movement. The similar controls turned me off at first, but I became used to it quickly. I guess I also was more interested in the D&D based worlds.

Probably finish my first time through sometime in the next month. Hard to continue working on the main quest, there are too many ways to get sidetracked. Looking forward to the new one, will probably replay as a different type of character and try some different factions while waiting for the new one.

Now they need to hurry up and get Neverwinter Nights 2 released!
