You might end up in prison, if you say something that offends.

What I'm wondering is why a US authority responded to a foreign report.

Some Americans are hyper-sensitive to perceived threats of violence, in part due to a string of school shootings over the past two decades. Little children have even been suspended from school for drawing guns, pointing their fingers and pretending to shoot a gun, and playing soldier. We are a nation of idiots, by and large.

This is a case of state prosecutors hoping to earn political points at the expense of some kid's life. No reasonable person would ever consider that Facebook post a credible threat; they would instead recognize it as gallows humor or horseplay in bad taste. The Criminal District Attorney in the Comal County District Attorney's office (New Brunfels, Texas) is one Jennifer Tharp. The Chief Felony Prosecutor is Sammy McCrary. These are the people who decided to destroy this kid's life.

As we all know, everything's bigger in Texas--especially the idiots.

If the authorities finally come to their senses and release this kid, I think the parents should sue the person that alerted the authorities and ruined this kids life. Why didn't she just call the parents and alert them instead? There are so many morons on the internet it is scarey, that is why I watch what I say...and that is so sad.

Nasty
