Hey guys..

Is it just me or do I find Battlefield2 much much more fun than the newer-gen Battlefield Bad Company2 ?

I bought Battlefield Bad Company2 about 4 days ago and finished the single player in just 16 hours. Then started playing Multi-player but it gets boring ! Although the graphics are superb and out-of-this world, but playing the same 13 maps over and over again gets old !!!

I've had Battlefield2 since 2006 and never ever get tired of the hundreds of mods-and-maps. I still haven't played most of the mods/maps yet !

Anyone else feel the same ?

That's what you get when you put a console port up against a PC only game. I thought Bad Company 2 was horrid. The maps are way too small and constricting.

Yea.. BC2 multiplayer maps are way too small ! I'm hoping that the upcoming Battlefield3 will bring back the mods/maps community !

and yes.. I guess it will be the same for : Unreal Tournament 2004/2003 vs UT 3.
- UT3 at least have few mods and maps, but for the gameplay.. UT2004/2003 still feels much more fun !! Theres just more life to it !

PS: But thank God for Far Cry 2.. we get new maps everyday !!! and usually super huge maps and super high-quality too :)

I love them both but they are different flavors of the same brand imo. BF2 is all about the vehicles while BC2 is more about the squad combat.

As for the map sizes I honestly thing BC2s are bigger but because of the respawn systems in place you fight through each part in a stage while most of the rest of the map gets ignored. Try playing some of the conquest maps instead of the rush ones, they are open completely from end to end. That and you don't have to run the whole distance of the map every single freaking time you die.

As for new maps I guess it depends on how you look at it. BC2 got an expansion with 6 new maps already in the form of Vietnam. BF2 on the other hand has been out for YEARS now and had mod tools released so naturally their are more choices to play off of. Dice will continue to add new maps though I'm sure, they have with all previous games so we'll just have to wait and see.

EDIT: Oh yes and as far as FUN goes I've enjoyed BC2 way more though I can't honestly say why. I think it was less the games them selves then the BF2 community. Most of the people in BF2 to be very stingy about map tactics and blame gaming when ever they lost.

Bad Company suffers from your usual case of consolitis.

I was OK with the 1st one. I think the second one sucked ass.

No it's an expansion but it's only $15 for a crap ton of new content. Well worth it.

dang... only 5 maps ? I know $15 is not bad.. but what deters me with these DLCs is the psychology and memory left behind for us from playing the last generation games like BF2 which provided us with hundreds of mods / maps for free.
