This has been making me crazy since Friday and I had to post about it. On Friday I received a tracking email from Walmart stating my Fallout New Vegas had been shipped. I sauntered over to the FedEx site to check my tracking number. Turns out the game is at the local FedEx distribution site and they are sitting on it until Tuesday!
I'm considering slipping on a Chinese Stealth Suit and liberating my game a few days early. It wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't know it was only a few miles away!

I was so tempted to call in sick today to play FO:NV.

Le sigh.

A little early to tell ... but since it is built on a tried-and-tested engine, I had no problem preordering it.

I haven't looked at reviews ... largely because I want to approach this game completely fresh. :D

Dude, this is Bethesda. I thought that after all the shit they got for Oblivion, they'd have learned to bug test. So then I decided to get Fallout 3 on Steam on launch.... It took FOUR MONTHS for them to fix the crashing problems. I had to play in windowed mode.

I look forward to buying New Vegas in June.

I played for about an hour last night with no issues.

Since they are using the same engine as FO, I suspect that bugs will be few.

A bit heavy handed - but GODLY none the less; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOt4ToY0CdU

I would have liked it if he was sweating and eating something disgusting. Like egg salad or really cheesy nachos with Mountain Dew. Or, just Mountain Dew.

Wow, I was going to literally type the same thing. Well, more or less.

But yeah, I thought this was going to be in-game footage or something, not a large shirtless dude.

I'm with ya. I saw Jip playing it one night, so I picked it up. After about an hour, I wasn't impressed at all. I didn't see any glitches, just didn't like the gameplay.

So how long do you think until we see a 50% off sale? That's probably when I'll go ahead and buy it. All the good mods will be out by then too.

....It's Fallout, using a tried-and-true engine, the gameplay was going to be the same... I didn't expect it to be much different, did you?

When ever there's a follow up, I entirely expect upgrades all over the place. If there's no changes on a PC game then it should be an expansion pack and not a full priced "Part 2". Console-only games can get away with that, but not PC's (but heck, even "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood" has great additions for a console-only game) It's just more Fallout3, so why not be titled "Fallout3 : New Vegas"? I expected change anyway...

People are still buying and enjoying wondering around the huge world it gives, so I don't see it dropping price anytime soon. It's fun, but I don't see the re-playability in it others seem to have with it. I'd much rather fire up Portal myself.

I played the crap out of Fallout 3, but it took me a while to warm up to Fallout New Vegas. I think it wasn't until 12+ hours that I really started to enjoy it. After 20 hours, I couldn't stop playing it. The main storyline is just window dressing though...the companion side quests and factions are what made it for me.
