Interesting read about game prices and how they are cheaper now than in the past.

I wonder what the conclusion would be if you factored in DLC.

If Nintendo released the NES today it would cost just a smidge over $250.

$250 today will get you a console, but typically that is with one controller and no game.

At least Nintendo somewhat continued with the tradition and gave you a game with the Wii.

Games cost $60 now? It's hard to believe, since I always buy games off Steam for like $8.

Really though, I remember when AC2 came out, I was pissed at the pop-up Steam ad thing because they had the price set to $60 for a PC game.

The thing about video games in general is that every new game that comes out is always about the same price. There are many games I would like to buy but have poor replay value or aren't worth full price. I also hate game that have crappy manuals. A game like Fallout 3 or Civilization V is worth $50 to me but a game like Metro isn't.

The good thing about PC games is that the prices drop really quickly after they come out; much faster than consoles. Except those game who think they are special like COD:MW2 (that game is still full price).
