Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode? (Right click on shortcut, hit properties, go to compatibility mode, etc.)

Yes I've tried all of the compatibility modes and nothing changes. I am using a no-cd crack to play.

Remove the crack and try playing with the CD. I'd suggest doing a thorough malware scan as well. No-cd cracks often have spyware or malware attached to them, if not by the crack developer, then by a distributor who use them for their own nefarious proposes.

+1. I had a similar problem with a no-cd crack. Get rid of it, and the game worked fine for me.

You have to get in game, alt + tab, open task manager, go to the processes tab, and end the process explorer.exe. Trust me, this is the only thing that will fix the funky colors and the weird noises. Upon exiting the game you'll have to restart explorer.exe to see your desktop or taskbar.

Weird, I just read about a .dll hack for older games.
