"I will never pay for online gaming...that's why I rock Sony..."
"Microsoft is charging for a service that should be free! That's why I love my Playstation 3!"
I know it says it will not charge for online gaming, but that will change. Trust me.

Folks around here don't care for such dickbaggery. They are actually more than OK with paying for something others THINK should be free.

None the less, if you feel Sony will begin charging for something that was free, I can see that happening. And,... no one will blink.

If the console kiddies spend millions of dollars on 5 multiplayer maps, then paying a fee for multiplayer/internet access on top of their ISP fee is OK with them.

If you want credit for 'calling it', well here you. Grats, have fun swinging your dick in someone's face on the Gamespot / 1Up / IGN forums.

If you think people will get outraged over it - uhm,... back away slowly. When you are 10 feet away from these boards, turn and run until you are ready to collapse. DON'T LOOK BACK - ever.

Actually, anyone that I've come across has always been pissed at the idea of Sony wanting to charge for something they promised to be free, and I've talked to a LOT of people, all of them agreed to it being an outrage. Of course, that's also why I no longer have a Live Gold subscription through Microsoft, can't afford it and didn't find hardly any uses for it in the first place. Why pay to use a service I'm already paying for, such as Netflix? That's absurd.

Cool. Fortunately, I don't own a console.

Sony will always have free online gaming. The are going to roll out a better online service ala xbox live that they will charge a yearly or monthly fee for. You can still opt out and use the base bones PSN that's available right now.
