If this is the wrong forum, please feel free to notify me and correct my mistake.

On to the topic, What is your favorite game developer?
Mine is probably Valve, mostly because they got me into PC gaming about a year and a half a go. I got the orange box so I could play HL2. I had a 5-year old Dell with a 3Ghz P4, 1 GB of ram, and POS Intel Integrated graphics. I installed the Orange Box and found that I could not load anything past the menu. After tweaking some settings, I played through the entire campaign of HL2 with 640x480 res and everything turned down, still only getting 5 FPS, and 2 with the flashlight on. I also learned about computers as a result of HL2.

What do you think?

Mines a mixed bag,
I'd say Bioware and Valve probably make my favorite PC games.
Guerilla and Atlus probably make my favorite PS3 games.
Nintendo and Marvelous probably make my favorite Wii games.
Mistwalker and Namco probably make my favorite 360 games.

I can't really select my favourite developers per-console, and as many of them have games on multiple consoles (Namco, Atlus, Valve) I'm just saying these guys have made some of my favourite games on the current generation of consoles.

Doesn't Nintendo develop everything on the Wii?

Valve. TF2, Portal, CS:S, HL2.
There are other really good ones too though.

I like Blizzard. As somewhat annoying their "When it is done, it is done" is, it (i don't think) has disappointed much with their releases. Their track record has held up for a long time, but I do wish Starcraft Ghost was made possible.

Gearbox Software for Borderlands.

Valve for Portal, Left 4 Dead, sadly I don't play Team Fortress 2, but according to other members here on the forum, it is a very good game.

Yep, but there's really no other company that's so consistently awesome.

Valve hands down. I don't think any other company has listened to their fans more and delivered so much free content rather then just pumping out sequel after sequel. TF2 has had 130 (ish) updates at this point and they still aren't done adding new content to a game that it's pushing 3 years old. Not only that but they are adding tons of fan made content including new weapons, maps and hats (skins). I've never seen another company so dedicated to working with their player base to continually improve and extend a games enjoyment like Valve has.

Bioware for their RPG awesomeness.

Valve for their awesome player based support as Xorn stated.

I agree on Valve and Bioware. Both those companies continue to kick ass with every title. I'm leaning towards saying Rockstar as well but I havent played Red Dead Redemption so I can't comment yet.

I liked once Infinity Ward for Call of Duty 1. But then with COD2 Infinity Ward started to change. And now it seem they are no more.

Anyways, I respect very much id Software because of the genius programmer John Carmack. I loved Quake 3 Arena and kicked my friends' butts. Doom 3 I played through with the highest difficulty.

And yes, not to forget, the men in blue: Blizzard Entertainment. For Warcraft 3, for Diablo 2 and World of Warcraft. I'm looking forward to Cataclysm, Starcraft 2 and the epic Diablo 3. This will be a hell of year for me. :o

I have to agree, iD software was a big thing in my PC gaming life, ever before I played HL2, I did a little PC gaming, Some RTS's, and 3 FPS's, Doom II, Quake 3 Arena, and halo (not by iD). I spent most of my child hood on iD games, and they are still some great games.

Kings Quest and up to Heroes of Might and Magic III was what I was aiming for. They had some good gems.

I have to admit that my favorite developers are Bioware for Mass Effect 1 and 2, Bethesda for Fallout and Oblivion and who can ever forget Rockstar for giving us GTA and of course the new Red Dead Redemption.

Sierra. Out of memory, they made the games I loved most. They may be Valve now for HL2, but were Sierra for Leisure Suit Larry and HL1 before Valve.

Ahh yeah, good ole Sierra from back in the day. They made a lot of the original RPGs of the PC era.

I'm probably going to get some flak for this one, but I'm also going to add EA into the mix. Not for what they've done now, but for primarily their Jane's Simulations they did back in the mid 90s.
