Maximum PC

I acquired my friends XBOX as a payment for fixing his Nintendo NES, and i find that the seating in the living area is far away from where my media console is. my friend says that there was a wireless bit i could buy and plug into the controller port, but i reckon they were mistaking it for the DVD player kit.

is there a way i can get the original XBOX to have wireless controllers? or is the DVD playback kit the only wireless accessory available? i planned the room, assuming that i thought i would actually end up buying a 360, with wireless controllers down the road.

i read some articles that demonstrate modding the unit to be a media center box or changing the interface and such, but my brother doesn't play his XBOX games anymore, so i thought this would be a good place to start with consoles, until i can afford the future 360 (or whatever it will be called, then).
