i just built a hardcore gaming rig and need some games for it i have hawx and mercenaries 2 what other games are good for the pc

Easy way to look at good games is to use Steam. http://store.steampowered.com/. This is the web addy. Its a free account and you can browse tons of games. If you want a game just buy it, download it and you can play anytime you want. You just need an active internet connection.

If you are into online play then check out Bad Company 2 and Team Fortress 2. For an awesome single player experience check out mass effect 1 and 2.

I agree with using Steam.

For plain ole' fun:
If you buy the Orange Box, you can get all the HL games, TF2, Portal, and a crapload of mods. Left 4 Dead is also fun.
Torchlight is $5 right now on Steam for like 20 more hours.
Borderlands is great too.


If you want to push your PC to the limit and get some serious eyecandy, but still have an awesome game:
Crysis and Crysis Warhead, duh
Fallout 3 and Oblivion (sort of)
X3: Terran Conflict
Far Cry 2
Bioshock (not too intensive, but looks pretty)

i forgot to mention i have fsx and orange box i might get x3 terran and crisis and i have garys mod torch light looks fun i beat borderlands on the 360

or you can download demo games from nvidia's nzone.com

the difference is that nzone.com gives you hassle-free (no need to register) and much-faster downloading time.

If you like games thats very dynamic / realistic surroundings (alternative to taking a vacation) and very lively colorful graphics, and lowered price .. get FarCry2

I'm sure the same holds for Fallout3 / Mass Effect series, but still expensive.

There are so many titles to choose from. If I were you I'd hit gamerankings or metacritics (these sites take the review scores from review sites/magazines and give you an overall average) and see what games rank highly, fit your taste and start from there. I don't use metacritics that much since I love gamerankings filter options.

Bioshock is a trip, and the follow up is pretty worthy. I think I'm going to have to restart Bioshock in order to enjoy BS2. Maybe by then, it'll be October and dive head first into Portal2...looks awesome.

try left 4 dead...new DLC is coming soon that bridges the gap between the first game and the second.

or Metro 2033.. i hear that it is a fun game, although short.
