I just bought the game, loaded it and updated it. I set up an account as requested then tried to play the multiplayer aspect of the game. When I start the game I get an error message saying I am using the wrong password...huh! I just created it how can it be bad...what a crock of crap this is. I have never had problems getting into any multiplayer games! Now what the hell am I supposed to do?

Are you supposed to wait for a confirmation email before you can use the account? Is there an activation link in your email waiting for you?

I had a similar problem with Battlefield 2 a few years ago except mine kept telling me my cd key was invalid. After about a month of going back and forth with EA support they fixed it.
You need to get it figured out though cuz BFBC2 rocks.

You absolutely need to stay in a squad and have all the areas covered: Medic, Engineer, recon and assault. At the very minimum you need to have medics close by. move, shoot and communicate. Mark as many targets as you can for your teammates, especially if you are playing as a recon troop. Do not abandon a tank even if it is at less than 5% because an engineer will repair it and turn it against you. If you have to leave a tank make sure you destroy it.

Ok, thanks for the tips. I really-really miss the server list so you can choose a game to jump into.

There is a server list...click multiplayer then server browser. You need to check the boxes on the side first (no password, not full, not empty etc.) and click search.

A few things to note:

-You can make up to 5 accounts for bfbc2.

-Use the Q button as much as you can. See an enemy, hit Q so everyone else knows.

-Shoot in Bursts, spraying does not work in this game

-Tanks have more armor in the front, try to hit them the side or in the back.

-If you die and you do not get points while you are dead, they do not count. (example doing a suicide run as recon with c4 attached to an atv)

-in your mydocuments>BFBC2>settings.ini folder, you can change the field of view. The default 55 is way too low for most people. Bump it up a bit to see what works best for you. I am running it at 85 on a 16:10 screen.

-Lastly, my username is GreenMidgetYoda0 (yes with the 0, I lost my email with GreenMidgetYoda which I used in BF2) in the game, add me so we can frag! My steam id is masterjediyoda and profile name is GreenMidgetYoda.

I think I will be getting Battlefied Bad Company 2 .. maybe around a month from now.

Money isn't an issue.. its the fact that I have about 50 games (starting from the year 2001) and its just plain rude to myself to keep buying new games and not finishing the previous games that I'd bought. Yeap I'm guilty !

So for those of you with BBC2, do u still play BF2 / BF1942 ? Just curious. Yea I always love BF2 especially all those mods (aix, aix2, assault, mercenaries, etc etc). Its so sad that I haven't played those since I always put 110% on my most recent purchased games. Do you guys feel the same guilt ?

Duuuude, believe me, I know exactly what you mean. I have tons of games still in the plastic. The way I look at it is single player focused games can wait but games you buy for multiplayer need to be played right away. If you pick up BFBC2 in a month nearly every other player will be ranked up with tons of perks and you will be at a major disadvantage.

GreenMidgetYoda,

Thanks for the tips :D I am Nastymann....yup with two "n"s, someone beat me to the punch and he/she is using my name

I am using a retail box version and not installed in Steam. I have TF2 and the original Left 4 dead installed right now. I am Nastyman with one n in those games.

I have the 940 black (stock 3.0 gigahertz) with two 4890s in crossfire and the game runs as smooooth as butter.

You have to make sure the motherboard can run the processor before you buy it. The motherboard may need a bios update to run it....go to its website and see if there is an update for it, if the board doesn't already support it.
