Dave's Top Ten Reasons Why I Died in Torchlight.

Dave's Top Ten Reasons Why I Died in Torchlight.

10. I decided to play something other than a Destroyer.
9. Can we make the cursor just a little smaller? 'Cause I still see it. Almost.
8. My pet develops a drinking problem whenever I stand still.
7. In preparation for the MMORPG, the designers are experimenting with offline lag.
6. Your pet is hurt. Your pet is fleeing. Your pet has fled. Your pet is fleeing. Your pet has fled. Your pet is hurt. Your pet is fleeing....
5. I think my Alchemist just poisoned the **** out of that wall.
4. Can you guys stop casting spells? 'Cause I can't see ****!
3. Monsters cleverly hide under item names like little bad interface ninjas.
2. Interface? Who the **** has time for that?

And the Number One Reason Why I Died in Torchlight:

1. Your pet has returned. NOW CLICK ON IT, BITCH!!!

I might also add:

• Hey, guys, we can fake 3D for this one, can't we?
• What if we actually made the cursor invisible? Nobody's tried that before!
• It's not like anyone ever fights on a staircase, anyway.
• Lefties? **** 'em.
• It's not like anyone ever fights on a bridge, anyway.
• That's what F keys are for, dumbass!
• Who tries to fight next to a wall? That's just stupid!
• Dude--nobody's gonna play past Odrak!
• Level 10 ought to be good enough. Yeah, level 10. **** it.

Wow.

I have to admit .. I haven't had any of those problems. Well, I did when I was playing it on my netbook but not on my PC.

Then again, I've only played as a Destroyer .. maybe I should try a new class. :D

I've died because I was too busy watching TV while playing.

Great fucking game though. It helps me stay away from World Of Warcraft. And, it's doing a good job of making the Diablo 3 wait something I can deal with.

Torchlight has a pretty big modding community which can make it for a much better (or at least more playable) game.

Torchleech is a useful mod manager and incorporates the more polished and working mods around.

But yes that list is very true hah.

Same here, I almost though this was a joke thread or something. I played a Alchemist up to lvl 18 or so but I got hooked on BFBC2 when the beta client released and sort of forgot about Torchlight.

Yeah .. I started another character as the chick-archer class .. more fun than the Destroyer so far .. I love tossing the traps around.

When you get rushed, though, shit gets a bit hectic.

I'm still really enjoying this game, but yeah, the destroyer is the only class the game is 'easy' with ... the rest of the types are more challenging. That's not a bad thing.

For $20 I didn't expect some amazing AAA title ... or a walk in the park. I like the game for what it is. And if you purchase it at the right time it's only $5. Plus it plays on all sorts of hardware, so all my friends with super-slow PCs can still play.

Too bad there's no multi player.

I actually gave up on this game. Aside from the problems hinted at above, it ran for shit on my POS computer.

When I get a new machine, I'll try playing again.

I am sure it was not funny to suffer through that; however, on my end it was simply hilarious!

Thank you for helping make my day. Everyone needs a little humor.

A game I played for 7 or 8 years was Dark Age of Camelot, best PvP ever.

Sometimes when I would get killed by another player I would laugh because I made a mistake or a group of Hibs or Mids would run me over from behind. I am not sure why I laughed, other than what happened was funny.

No, I would not like to get killed all the time or have a crazed pet, like a WoW hunter has when in a group, in a dungeon... I put my pet on passive, I think that was the command.

I play to, well, play, and that means have fun. We never get too old to have fun.

Very true!

Sadly, some people do get too bitter to enjoy the hilarity of life. Glad to see you aren't one of them.

Oh .. and welcome to the forums. You've been posting up a storm and I've noticed quite a bit of good info and advice .. thanks for sharing with us.
