OK, so I was looking at the prices for Batman:Arkham Asylum, and that trashy little game it comes with in a package, Just Cause. Now, buying JUST BM:AA costs $25, as it is 50% off. Good deal, right? Conversly, buying BM:AA and Just Cause together in a package is $22, or 66% off. Fail.

If you dont believe me, go check yourself :D

So, you're complaining about getting two games for less than one? I'm confused here.

I just find it funny. Especially because the main page disagrees with how much off the games are.

Uh, no it doesn't. I just opened my Steam window and it says save UP TO 66% on games and bundles. The Batman and Just Cause Bundle is displayed on the main page.

[Edit: Grim, please trim down that image. It breaks the tables]

All you had to do was say they were advertising 60% and only giving you 50% individually. Explain the fail next time.

When I bought some games in December, it was $20 for UT3, but it was $13 for the unreal pack... which INCLUDED UT3... where every game was like 66% off, after the 66% saving from buying the pack. So it was $70 bucks of games for a baker's dozen of Washingtons.

Steam often does that sort of thing where it costs more to buy one game in a pack than to actually buy the pack.

Just Cause may be crappy, but I played the Just Cause 2 demo, and it seems awesome. I don't play very much GTA, barely any in fact, but it seems to have very similar themes and gameplay.

yeap I played JustCause2 demo also. The graphics is simply marvelous especially on directx10+. I ONLY WISH it can be 1st person ( I never like 3rd person for shooter game)

Even on deals I'm sure steam make their cut.

But sometimes people don't realise the normal prices are set by publishers, not steam.

Why are you complaining? You get 2 games, for less then 1, because you bought a bundle, which gives an additional discount, just like how sometimes the deals for bundles like for example the civ 4 bundle, even though i had civ 4, and beyond the sword, I think it was $10 or $15 for civ 4, and all expansions, and if i bought the 2 expansions that I didn't have it would be the same price I believe. Steam just gave me a free game and expansion, that I was then able to give to a friend to show him the magic of Civ 4,

Steam does not = fail, steam = epic win

There is very little to complain about Steam.

They have given everyone a reason NOT to pirate games; selling them for next to nothing. Or, flat out giving them out for free (Portal for example).

steam is the platform that finally makes pirates look like assholes for pirating, because for example, i have lan parties occasionally with friends, most of them pirate like 80% of their games, and some of them dont even have like TF2 so they look like massive assholes for stealing all the games.
