Maximum PC

Just pre-ordered AC2 this morning, and i installed it through steam. i played all the way through until just after the map loaded after the death of Ezio's father, and brother.

Then it froze after the family maid came to talk to me, and i got the Blue Screen of Death while trying to regain control of my desktop. Steam had disconnected from the Friends list about 20 minutes before it happened, so i assume that i could still go on, which i did. i am using the Beta UI at this time.

anyways, i got that far, it BSOD'd me, and when i came back to play and resume, AC2 saved menu does not show the profile i have been playing on for 2 hours.

that sucks. if any other gamers here decide to purchase it, i wish them luck in getting farther along than i have so far. i currently have a copy that loads to the main screen, but no saved game is available.

I realize many don't approve of this new DRM strategy by Ubisoft, though i hope my story today helps you all steer clear of it for awhile.

Nice DRM isn't it? You can thank Ubisoft for that one.

Thankfully, so far it works now. i read a few postings on the game's forum, and some speculate that the Ubisoft Servers might be getting DDOS attacked, but i don't know.

so far, so good, runs well, and gameplay is great. just wish i could still skip cutscenes, and shorten the long memory strand loading screens.
