Holy SHIT. How and why did I dismiss this game?!

When I 1st played the demo, I just wrote it off as EA bloat trying to capitalize on survival horror.

None the less, I picked it up for $20 last week. I played it over this weekend and it has been a great gaming experience - a type and quality of gaming I haven't had in a long while.

The story alone is worth overlooking whatever you may have against the survival horror genre. The scare pop-ups do get tiresome towards the end, but the game will fuck with you any chance it gets. And, as tired as I was of it, it still got to me.

This game reminded me of Metroid Prime while playing through it... one of my favorite games of all time. So it did have a good first impression on me, and it kept me impressed through the whole game. It never really failed to keep me on the edge of my seat.

Is it $20 great or $49.99/$59.99 great? When I first saw it, it sounded intrigueing, but not $49.99 or $59.99 intrigueing.

I would not have hated myself for paying $60/$50. I did pay $20 though. But, I consider it $60/$50 great.

The replay value, for achievement purposes, is pretty high. However, you will blast and blaze your way through the replays - unless you start off with the hard mode. And try to tackle impossible mode.

Dead Space 2 is indeed a day one purchase for me. This has gotten me hooked. The fear and tension Resident Evil used to provide is back in full force with Dead Space.

How bad is the camera angle? That's why I didn't originally buy the game. There were a lot of reviews saying it was really annoying and that it was very slow movement, etc.

I feel it is just fine. I consider it better than Gears of War 1/2. The slow movements adds to the tension. Sort of like how bad RE1 - 4 controls add to the tension. But, not like the awfulness of RE5 control.

Single player only.

Is it a real PC control scheme, or a ported console control scheme?

So I picked it when I saw that Steam had it for sale for $10...

Why o why did I wait on this game? Nobody mentioned that the graphics kicked ass too! I'm only a quarter into this game, and I love it!

The replay value for the purposes of the application, is quite high. However, oven and Blaze your way through again - unless you start with the hard mode. And try to combat the method impossible.
