I wanna install Debian Sarge via a netinstall cause I dont wanna waste 7 CD's. Problem is when I get to the boot promt and type in linux26, and it asks me for my ethernet card, it's not on the list! Any solutions? ASUS P5AD2 Premium...

Apparently it uses the syskonnect driver, and my guess is to get it to work you're going to have to drop to the command line, install the driver, and go from there. From google-land, here's the driver link:

http://www.syskonnect.de/syskonnect/sup ... pport.html

Does the install let you load a driver from floppy? I can't remember. Even if you install from ISOs, you'll probably need the driver after the fact to get on the 'net. I do not know if there is one in the current kernel or if they are only available on their site, from the links on google it sure seems like it's just what's on the syskonnect site.

Also, it shouldn't take 7 CDs to do the install. From the installer instructions:

Although a full set of binary packages requires several CDs, it is unlikely you will need packages on the third CD and above. You may also consider using the DVD version, which saves a lot of space on your shelf and you avoid the CD shuffling marathon.

So, 2 CDs should do ya, which is a little easier to swallow :)
