i have win vista (32-bit) win 7 (64-bit) and ubuntu 8.04 installed on my laptop.

its been almost a year since i have had a clean install of vista and i decided to give it a fresh start.

after install, only vista was visible, i dropped in the win 7 disk and repaired the installation.

i tried to do the same thing for ubuntu, it didn't recognize the 40gb partition of the previous install, neither installs of windows see the partition either.

what is the best choice of action?

Can you see the partitions in Disk Management?

My initial thought is to try mounting them with the livecd. At worst, you'll want to bounce what's in Dish Management against a /sbin/fdisk -l in the live cd. That should at least confirm what partitions are where.

And someone may want to move this to Alt.OS.
