Yeah but that's a SSD they tested on. Get that tested on a Normal HD and there might be credibility.

They tested all of the FS on the same hardware. As a comparison, I can't see a flaw in their testing methodology. Why is an SSD-based drive going to make a difference in your opinion?

More optimised for SSD? I'm not even sure how one would do that from the FS level.

Actually ... yes, I can see how that is possible. A good idea, even. But I doubt it was done for EXT4 since SSD is such a small share of the linux market.

Good call.

For those who don't know about B-Tree FS, one of the interesting features is that it can be optimised for SSD drives. Also for RAID arrays.

The release has slipped (it was supposed to be Q4 2008), but you can try out the experimental version as of 2.6.29
