I was wondering if anybody has setup a Linux Media server and what program they use to stream media.
I have tried a couple of ones: ushare and fuppes. Ushare was easier to set up, but did not sort music very good. Fuppes wasn't as easy to set up, but does a better job at sorting music when taglib is installed. Both programs handled video files just fine. The only problem I have with fuppes is that it doesn't read the tag information from music files. You have to install taglib along with fuppes. Taglib normally doesn't support wma files, but there is a patch for this, but I have not been able to get taglib with the wma patch compiled. Anyway I use Ubuntu 8.10 server and fuppes to stream files to a xbox 360 and it works great, aside from my wma files not getting sorted properly.
Just wondering if any else uses linux and what program they use.
