Ok my cousin just called my, and her B/F has forgotten the password for his laptop. I know almost nothing about mac software. Are there any brave souls out there that can help me out. I know in windows I can log in as the admin and then reset the user password. Does mac have something similar to this? If so how does one go about doing this.

Thanks
Nathan

Does your cousin have the disk? If so, you can follow Apple's instructions on how to reset the password.

Another important document to read is This One.

That is what I was thinking DB. I told him to get a PC not a MAC, but it was slim and sleek, and white, I think he fell for the Apple commercials against Vista.

Just for discussion, has anyone ever mounted an OS X partition with a LiveCD to change the password?

Logic would tell me that this would work, but never really tried it myself and don't really have a Mac to experiment on.
