But trust me i've done it before and now when i try to run sheepshaver it says "Unsupported ROM type." i've tried everything and i cannot get it to work. I've looked for sheepshaver forums with no luck will you please help me?

If you tell us what kind of laptop you have, we might be able to help.

If you tell us why you aren't using OSx86 10.5.x, that would help too. If your laptop isn't PPC, why would you use a PPC-based OS instead of the better (more modern) OSX.

Even running OSx on x86 hardware only marginally works... it is VERY buggy. Especially laptops. If you are VERY careful and pick your hardware carefully you can build a very stable desktop OS.

You can put OSx86 on an MSI Wind or a Dell Mini 9 and have it running in half an hour. On the Wind, you'll lack a mic and wifi (though the miniPCI wifi adapter can easily be swapped in favour of a $30 replacement that is recognised as an AirPort) and on the Dell you'll lack a mic.

I've been looking into turning a Wind into a Hackintosh so I can have a cheap iPhone dev box. :D
