Welcome to the forums however I regret to inform you that you posted in the wrong section and should message a mod to come move it for you.

Also, Linux has gotten tons easier nowadays to install. I would say the hardest thing for me was setting the primary boot partition when I was doing it custom through linux. :/

No Data will be lost just fyi.

As I said in your other thread, which is now locked, read the stickies in this folder. They tell you everything that you need to know.

You can also try reading the docs that are provided by each distro. Ubuntu is very well known for their high quality docs .. start there.

If you can't be bothered googling and learning, I don't think that linux is for you. However, if you want to try:

Read each of these links: https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/newtoubuntu/C/index.html

If those are confusing, linux is not for you.

Next, https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/switching/index.html

That link walks you through the differences between Windows and linux, what you need to know before you install linux, and finally HOW-TO install linux.

Those are all step-by-step instructions and explanations. It simply doesn't get any easier than that.
