Hey Alt-OS residents,

I just wanted to thank you guys for your help over the last six months as I transitioned to Linux. Without your help and guidance, there's no way I could possibly have been successful with my switch to Linux.

I saw the article for the last time before it ships on Friday afternoon, so it should be on its way to the printers soon enough. It will appear in the February issue, which should street around the first of next year.

Special thanks to Jipstyle for giving the whole story a once-over to make sure I didn't make any egregious Linux mistakes.

Anyway, thanks guys!

///Will

Wooo! :D

I can't wait to see the article in print, Will.

I think you guys will all enjoy it ... the article is definitely worth buying the mag, for those who aren't in the habit of doing so.

Thanks! :D

As Will mentioned in a thread a while ago ... he has the best job in the world. I was offered the chance to look over an article, and see the work 'in progress' ... and the chance to help out, if I could ... so I was happy to do what I could.

The fact that I might get a bag'o'schwag is a nice bonus. ;)

I'm sure any of us would have done the same, but since it was you, you get to take the associated crap ;) I'm sure the schwag will make up for it, though.

If we find any mistakes, do we get to blame you too? :twisted: Unlikely there will be any, I'm sure.

I'm looking forward to the issue, too bad now we have to wait :)

No. Any mistakes are the fault of the printers.

You sound happy. I'm going to assume it went well. I hope it did! Will, are you going to keep using Linux or switch back soon or something?

Any mistakes are purely my fault. :)

I'm still on Linux for the time being. My plan is to transition to a Mac for the next six or so months, and then report back to you guys on that.
