Last night I attempted to install fedora 2 core. I am attempting to install on a Dell Inspiron 1150, with Intel Celeron 2.4ghz, 256mg ram, and a Intel 82852 graphic controller. I had already resized my partition so I have 4gs free. On the primary partition I have windows xp install. So I put the 1st cd in and rebooted my system. When I get the how do I want to install (graphic or text) I select graphic and I start seeing all the text on my screen, after that I just get a green screen. I am pretty sure the screen is when it attempts to go into the graphical installation. Can any offer any help??

I don't think it is because this happend to me when I attempted to install redhat 9 and got the same green screen. I thought it might of been with the disc so I decided to install fedora.

You probably want to set a flag addressing graphics.

IIRC you want to do a linux VGA when prompted....although I'm not certain about that.

You should be able to display all the options you have available to you, so I would suggest doing that before entering that just to make sure.

try booting with http://kanotix.mipooh.net/viewtopic.php?t=2150
It's a bootable linux distro from cd, no hdd installation required.
If X starts from the cd, you know i'ts a software based problem, and you can then copy your XF86Config-4 file over to the windows partition, and insert it into fedora to make X work.

I'd recomend you just install the same distro to hdd, you end up with debian/sid.
