I want to Uninstall/Reinstall Outlook 2003. Is there a way to back up my inbox e-mails so that they don't get deleted? I want to bring them back after I reinstall. Thanks.

I did this very thing a few days ago when my install became corrupted. When I reinstalled, all my emails were still in tact without backing up.

I would never advise NOT to backup, mind you -

1) Go to 'File'
2) Import and Export
3) Export to a file
4) Personal File Folder (.pst)
5) Highlight 'Inbox' or 'Personal Folders' and check 'Include subfolders'
6) Name your .pst file and select where you want it saved
7) Finish up the prompts and it will export your mail

In the event that Outlook trashed all your mail during the uninstall/reinstall, you'll go through the same steps above to import (selecting Import in step 3) your mail.

How did you know your install became corrupted?

My current problem is that I can't receive e-mails all of a sudden. :(

Because it kept trying to reinstall itself, popped an error message, and prompty shut down.

As for your problem, that could be numerous things. Firewall settings, addition of SP2's firewall, mail server could be down, have you changed your password recently, etc etc.

I don't think I have any of those issues. I'm guessing something's wrong with Outlook. All my e-mail acount tests passed in Outlook, but I just can't retrieve mail.
