ok, i have a pc that records tv, runs ftp, and ventrilo, all the file on the shared drives can be copied, renamed, and deleted, but the folder on the E: drive that the TV records to plays fine on the originating PC, but not network users, how can i have all MPEGS have the same share access?

Do you keep this machine running 24/7? If so, does the program used to capture TV also run 24/7?

You might not be able to access the MPEGs if the program that created the file is still running and has the file locked.

Do you mean the default permissions on the folder are set to strict and then you change them (once) and they are ok?

If so, can you play with the permissions on the master folder? I can't 'member if it was windows or linux that I had this issue on, but not only did I have to open the permissions on a folder, I had to apply those setting to all subfolders and files. I am pretty sure it was windows and it was simply a check box.

Look around - I will ponder it and see if I can get more specific.
