Hi again all. I was wondering if anybody might know the ins and outs of this. We all know that it is illegal to install your windows on more than 1 puter. But what about a dual boot on the same computer. I would not think this would be wrong, but how would windows activation react to this?

Same hardware, it should just reactivate.

That's what I'm hoping, just wondering if anybody has tried it first hand.

I've done it once...na'er an issue.

The basis for activation is hardware based, so it's going to treat it like you're installing on the same machine considering it generated the same hashes as before.

Cool, thanks, I was just hoping it wouldn't look for another copy on the machine and get pissy if it found one.

Just don't let the installation screens fool you.
