I have no idea what to do here. I recently tried to erase a file labeled "T-15137136-Windows Longhorn Wallpaper" in my Incomplete folder for LimeWire. Windows said that it

"Cannot delete T-15137136-Windows Longhorn Wallpaper: It is being used by another person or program. Close adny programs that might be using the file and try again."

I've tried copying the file to my desktop and another folder and now it won't delete from either! I've had this problem before (not related to LimeWire) but it somehow remedied itself. I've run Spybot and Ad-Aware and Norton to see if it can pick up the file. It doesn't.

Can anyone help me?

I kinda know what your problem is. When I get stuff off Usenet occasionally Windows XP will lock the file and I can't move it or delete it.

Booting up into Safe Mode is one way of killing it off but there were two others that also worked:

* Go into the file properties, go down to attributes and click advanced, uncheck all the boxes there then hit OK. Wait about a minute and see if you can delete it.

* Do a Copy and Paste of the file into the same directory it's in. When it's done you shouldbe able to delete both files.

I know it sounds a little nuts but I've used both and if one doesn't work the other will. If neither works, try booting into safe mode and killing it off there.
