How can I get Windows Explorer XP to start in "C:\" drive instead of "My Computer"? Thanks.

1) Right click Explorer
2) Select Properties
3) In the target box, replace text with:

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /e, c:\

4) Serve warm and enjoy

another thing you can do is create a shortcut to your hard drive and then drag that to your quick launch toolbar

There is also a "Start In" field in the properties that you simple could put in "C:\".

Different Windows Explorer question:

Is there some way to revert to the 98-style Find dialog box? The "Explorer Bar" Find that XP defaults to is really annoying.

No problem. And if by chance you haven't figured it out already, I'll state the obvious and mention that you can add to "c:\" to have it open wherever your heart desires. For example:

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /e, c:\TopSecret\Honeymoon\Hotel\XXX

8)
