I am some what new to WinXp, and I'm having a major problem with it.
Can anyone inform me how i can remove Iexplore, Netmeeting, MsnGaming Zone, and soo on. Basiclly the problem is that i am not allowed to remove certain programs that I dont want. When i check the properties of these files it states that they are read-only and it want allow me to uncheck it.
Surely XP doesn't operate in this manner? Or should I just go back to 3.1 or 95, atleast then i could control my computer!!!! :x :x :x

open My Computer.... go to tools>folder options and on the view tab select "show hidden files and folders" then Uncheck "hide extensions for known file types" and "hide protected operating system files".

microsloth put hidden stuff on yer pc
now go to c:\windows\inf\sysoc.inf

ok in sysoc.inf you will see stuff like this

msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,HIDE,7

make it look like this
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,,7

remove any "hide" tag ya see and then you can use add/remove windoze BS
