Didn't see a multimedia discussion sub-fora so...
Anyway, I got some home videos off my Hi8 cassettes using the convoluted way of a DVD-recorder box to capture the RCA output. So the DVD-recorder gives me output in Video_TS files (.vob). I used Handbrake to convert them to an MP4 file, however, I think I didn't set the settings right. I wanted to use OpenShot to edit the files but it gives me an error about H.264 and B-frames (I think). So it won't load it properly.
So basically, can someone tell me all this encoding mumbo-jumbo and formats and stuff?? It's too complicated right now.
My second option is to try the Windows Movie Maker, so I'll do that soon.
