First Time Poster - Not sure if I got the right category... so be patient :)

I have a fairly old PC Laptop that I'm using. I have Windows 7 Home Premium on a Samsung Laptop with an Intel i3 Processor inside. What I'm curious about, is whether or not installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 Home Premium (Factory Reset Essentially) would yield me better performance, or if Windows 8.1 is a better option. I have copies of both handy, so purchasing them isn't a factor. Strictly performance speaking, which OS is better?

Windows 8 is subtly better than Windows 7. You probably won't notice a difference.

I mean, if it's a data point that'll help you, Windows 8 can run pretty well on a Atom Z3740 tablet using the regular Home edition. I don't believe you can do the same with Windows 7 Home Premium.
