Alt-Print Screen or just Print Screen usually works pretty good, followed by a Ctrl-V into MSPAINT. If you want an actual program to do it, Win Gimp has some nice functionality for screenshots.

GIMP for Windows is free, i guess WinGIMP is something else.

never used GIMP though, so dunno about the screenshot issues here.

http://www.nonags.com/nonags/grcapt.html has some screen capture programs. I havent tried them, but it's worth a shot.

You can get the most recent Windows install here

http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/stable.html

you'll need both the GTK+ 2 and the Gimp for Windows setup files. GTK must be installed first.
